Is it worth keeping the older values for folks who purchase SotS to try it out rather than going straight to BoB?

I've already created Categories to allow for the differences between SotS and BoB.

It would mean that we have an archive of what things used to be, at the expense of having to go through and duplicate pages to go into the archive...

I can do that though.

I guess the alternative is noting that 1.2.2 values are in the history for each page...

--silvaril 21:48, 18 January 2008 (CST)

  • I'm not sure if it's worth keeping separate values for 1.2.2 and for BoB. All new updates are to BoB and Mecron has said before that SotS has evolved to become BoB (and will again with AMOC). Still, I'm a bit of an electronic Pack Rat and while I love having older versions to compare against, I can see some potentially serious usability issues with keeping both the old data and the new data. I'd like to see what more users think about keeping the old data here somewhere. --Nspace 13:04, 23 January 2008 (CST)
  • I'm not sure about it. There are users out there without BoB and they are probably searching info in this wiki from time to time. Also there are many differences between SotS and SotS:BoB and when the AMOC comes out this problem with keeping the old info would arise again. So I'm starting to think that all 1.2.2 info should be kept in a separate SotS wiki. (Yes, I'm crazy :) ) -- Anon 18:25, 23 January 2008 (CST)

If you want to create a link to a page and the text you wish to be displayed is the same as the title, you can simply surround the words with double brackets. For example, to create a link to "Suul'ka," you can simply write [[Suul'ka]], rather than [[Suul'ka|Suul'ka]]. It saves one a lot of time...most of the time. ;) --The Writer2 17:24, 23 December 2005 (EST)

Cool. This is the first time I've contributed to a Wiki, so it's quite the learning experience. --Nspace 17:53, 23 December 2005 (EST)

It's all good. To be honest, everyone here except for Day is pretty new to wikipedia stuff, and are learning more very time we log in...well, most of the time. Don't be shy to ask myself, our Admin, or Silveril questions if you have any. Wipe your shoes at the door and make yourself at home. :)

Oh, and never be afraid of breaking stuff. If you do happen to break something, a sysop will notice and can revert what you did back to its original state in a single click (literally). :) --The Writer2 18:59, 23 December 2005 (EST)

Hey, Nspace. What are you using to find the remaining instences of module? It seems that the stuff you were finding wasn't showing up in the search output, so either you are doing it by hand or you've got some trick. Lemme know, since I seem to have missed more than the zero that I was pretty sure I had. Cathexis 19:26, 22 February 2006 (EST)

  • I was using the "What links here" pages. And you are right, it wasn't showing up on the search page. --Nspace 16:00, 23 February 2006 (EST)

I'd considered adding that Kidzworld...thing, but I decided against it as I wasn't sure I could consider it a review - fewer facts than exclamation points, and fewer still that had any bearing on the quality of the game. Do we just take what we can get, O clerics? --Hidie, 23:00, August 31 2006

  • Well, it is aimed at young kids. :) My take on it is that we should post links to all the reviews and review like articles. A parent looking for a game to buy for his/her kids will pay more attention to a review writen for kids or with kids in mind than one aimed at an older crowd. That being said, even clerics can be wrong and I have no issue with it being removed if that's the consensus. :) --Nspace 07:54, 1 September 2006 (PDT)
    • Nah, I think your reasoning is sound, NSpace. ;) --The Writer2 20:11, 1 September 2006 (PDT)

Just Some Friendly Kudos

The new images for the tech pages look pretty. Good work grabbing those. :D --The Writer2 16:17, 1 August 2006 (PDT)

I've given you sysop privs. Feel free to delete pages as you see fit! :) --Rorschach 16:03, 21 August 2006 (PDT)

  • Thanks! After I get the full game and can check myself against the full, patched files, I'm sure I'll make use of it. --Nspace 16:06, 21 August 2006 (PDT)
